Australia vs Poland: Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Waste
Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Waste over time
- Australia
- Poland
How they compare
Australia currently reports 1.03 Mt CO2e against 0.9101 Mt CO2e in Poland, a difference of 0.1199 Mt CO2e.
That makes Australia's figure about 1.1 times Poland's.
The two have swapped places 1 time across 55 shared years of data; in 1970 it was Poland ahead.
Australia ranks 26th and Poland ranks 29th of 203 countries.
Across the 6 decades both report, Australia averaged higher in 2 and Poland in 4.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Australia | Poland | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1970s | 0.2912 Mt CO2e | 0.6355 Mt CO2e | 0.3444 Mt CO2e | Poland |
| 1980s | 0.3157 Mt CO2e | 0.6568 Mt CO2e | 0.341 Mt CO2e | Poland |
| 1990s | 0.4104 Mt CO2e | 0.6703 Mt CO2e | 0.2599 Mt CO2e | Poland |

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the waste sector. This includes emissions from solid waste (IPCC 2006 codes 4.A Solid Waste Disposal, 4.B Biological Treatment of Solid Waste, 4.C Incineration and Open Burning of Waste) and wastewater treatment (IPCC 2006 code 4.D Wastewater Treatment and Discharge). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
