How they compare

Germany currently reports 2.25 Mt CO2e against 2.03 Mt CO2e in Bangladesh, a difference of 0.22 Mt CO2e.

That makes Germany's figure about 1.1 times Bangladesh's.

Across all 55 years both countries report, Germany has been ahead every year.

Bangladesh ranks 13th and Germany ranks 10th of 203 countries.

Germany has averaged higher in every one of the 6 decades both report.

Head to head by decade

Decade Bangladesh Germany Difference Ahead
1970s 0.5388 Mt CO2e 1.28 Mt CO2e 0.7443 Mt CO2e Germany
1980s 0.6791 Mt CO2e 1.38 Mt CO2e 0.705 Mt CO2e Germany

A measure of annual emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the waste sector. This includes emissions from solid waste (IPCC 2006 codes 4.A Solid Waste Disposal, 4.B Biological Treatment of Solid Waste, 4.C Incineration and Open Burning of Waste) and wastewater treatment (IPCC 2006 code 4.D Wastewater Treatment and Discharge). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
