Belarus vs Madagascar: Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Waste
Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Waste over time
- Belarus
- Madagascar
How they compare
Belarus currently reports 0.2131 Mt CO2e against 0.1998 Mt CO2e in Madagascar, a difference of 0.0133 Mt CO2e.
That makes Belarus's figure about 1.1 times Madagascar's.
The two have swapped places 4 times across 55 shared years of data; in 1970 it was Belarus ahead.
Belarus ranks 76th and Madagascar ranks 79th of 203 countries.
Across the 6 decades both report, Belarus averaged higher in 5 and Madagascar in 1.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Belarus | Madagascar | Difference | Ahead |

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the waste sector. This includes emissions from solid waste (IPCC 2006 codes 4.A Solid Waste Disposal, 4.B Biological Treatment of Solid Waste, 4.C Incineration and Open Burning of Waste) and wastewater treatment (IPCC 2006 code 4.D Wastewater Treatment and Discharge). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
