Botswana vs Gambia: Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Waste
Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Waste over time
- Botswana
- Gambia
How they compare
Botswana currently reports 0.0303 Mt CO2e against 0.0247 Mt CO2e in Gambia, a difference of 0.0056 Mt CO2e.
That makes Botswana's figure about 1.2 times Gambia's.
Across all 55 years both countries report, Botswana has been ahead every year.
Botswana ranks 146th and Gambia ranks 147th of 203 countries.
Botswana has averaged higher in every one of the 6 decades both report.

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the waste sector. This includes emissions from solid waste (IPCC 2006 codes 4.A Solid Waste Disposal, 4.B Biological Treatment of Solid Waste, 4.C Incineration and Open Burning of Waste) and wastewater treatment (IPCC 2006 code 4.D Wastewater Treatment and Discharge). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
