Botswana vs Mauritius: Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Waste
Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Waste over time
- Botswana
- Mauritius
How they compare
Botswana currently reports 0.0303 Mt CO2e against 0.0228 Mt CO2e in Mauritius, a difference of 0.0075 Mt CO2e.
That makes Botswana's figure about 1.3 times Mauritius's.
The two have swapped places 5 times across 55 shared years of data; in 1970 it was Mauritius ahead.
Botswana ranks 146th and Mauritius ranks 148th of 203 countries.
Across the 6 decades both report, Botswana averaged higher in 3 and Mauritius in 3.
Head to head by decade

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the waste sector. This includes emissions from solid waste (IPCC 2006 codes 4.A Solid Waste Disposal, 4.B Biological Treatment of Solid Waste, 4.C Incineration and Open Burning of Waste) and wastewater treatment (IPCC 2006 code 4.D Wastewater Treatment and Discharge). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
