Dominica vs Greenland: Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Waste
Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Waste over time
- Dominica
- Greenland
How they compare
Dominica currently reports 0.0013 Mt CO2e against 0.001 Mt CO2e in Greenland, a difference of 0.0003 Mt CO2e.
That makes Dominica's figure about 1.3 times Greenland's.
The two have swapped places 1 time across 55 shared years of data; in 1970 it was Greenland ahead.
Dominica ranks 186th and Greenland ranks 188th of 204 countries.
Across the 6 decades both report, Dominica averaged higher in 3 and Greenland in 3.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Dominica | Greenland | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1970s | 0.0006 Mt CO2e | 0.0008 Mt CO2e | 0.0002 Mt CO2e | Greenland |
| 1980s | 0.0008 Mt CO2e | 0.001 Mt CO2e | 0.0002 Mt CO2e | Greenland |
| 1990s | 0.001 Mt CO2e | 0.0011 Mt CO2e | 0.0001 Mt CO2e | Greenland |
| 2000s | 0.0011 Mt CO2e | 0.0009 Mt CO2e | 0.0002 Mt CO2e | Dominica |
| 2010s | 0.0012 Mt CO2e | 0.0009 Mt CO2e | 0.0002 Mt CO2e | Dominica |
| 2020s | 0.0013 Mt CO2e | 0.001 Mt CO2e | 0.0003 Mt CO2e | Dominica |
Averages of every year both report within each decade.

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the waste sector. This includes emissions from solid waste (IPCC 2006 codes 4.A Solid Waste Disposal, 4.B Biological Treatment of Solid Waste, 4.C Incineration and Open Burning of Waste) and wastewater treatment (IPCC 2006 code 4.D Wastewater Treatment and Discharge). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
