Ecuador vs Guatemala: Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Waste
Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Waste over time
- Ecuador
- Guatemala
How they compare
Guatemala currently reports 0.2325 Mt CO2e against 0.22 Mt CO2e in Ecuador, a difference of 0.0125 Mt CO2e.
That makes Guatemala's figure about 1.1 times Ecuador's.
The two have swapped places 9 times across 55 shared years of data; in 1970 it was Ecuador ahead.
Ecuador ranks 74th and Guatemala ranks 71st of 203 countries.
Across the 6 decades both report, Ecuador averaged higher in 3 and Guatemala in 3.
Head to head by decade

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the waste sector. This includes emissions from solid waste (IPCC 2006 codes 4.A Solid Waste Disposal, 4.B Biological Treatment of Solid Waste, 4.C Incineration and Open Burning of Waste) and wastewater treatment (IPCC 2006 code 4.D Wastewater Treatment and Discharge). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
