Estonia vs Liberia: Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Waste
Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Waste over time
- Estonia
- Liberia
How they compare
Liberia currently reports 0.0437 Mt CO2e against 0.0359 Mt CO2e in Estonia, a difference of 0.0078 Mt CO2e.
That makes Liberia's figure about 1.2 times Estonia's.
The two have swapped places 1 time across 55 shared years of data; in 1970 it was Estonia ahead.
Estonia ranks 141st and Liberia ranks 140th of 203 countries.
Across the 6 decades both report, Estonia averaged higher in 5 and Liberia in 1.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Estonia | Liberia | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1970s | 0.0243 Mt CO2e | 0.0123 Mt CO2e | 0.012 Mt CO2e | Estonia |
| 1980s | 0.0262 Mt CO2e | 0.0171 Mt CO2e | 0.0091 Mt CO2e | Estonia |

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the waste sector. This includes emissions from solid waste (IPCC 2006 codes 4.A Solid Waste Disposal, 4.B Biological Treatment of Solid Waste, 4.C Incineration and Open Burning of Waste) and wastewater treatment (IPCC 2006 code 4.D Wastewater Treatment and Discharge). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
