Gambia vs Lesotho: Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Waste
Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Waste over time
- Gambia
- Lesotho
How they compare
Gambia currently reports 0.0247 Mt CO2e against 0.0185 Mt CO2e in Lesotho, a difference of 0.0062 Mt CO2e.
That makes Gambia's figure about 1.3 times Lesotho's.
The two have swapped places 3 times across 55 shared years of data; in 1970 it was Lesotho ahead.
Gambia ranks 147th and Lesotho ranks 150th of 203 countries.
Across the 6 decades both report, Gambia averaged higher in 1 and Lesotho in 5.
Head to head by decade

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the waste sector. This includes emissions from solid waste (IPCC 2006 codes 4.A Solid Waste Disposal, 4.B Biological Treatment of Solid Waste, 4.C Incineration and Open Burning of Waste) and wastewater treatment (IPCC 2006 code 4.D Wastewater Treatment and Discharge). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
