Germany vs United Kingdom: Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Waste
Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Waste over time
- Germany
- United Kingdom
How they compare
Germany currently reports 2.25 Mt CO2e against 2.03 Mt CO2e in United Kingdom, a difference of 0.22 Mt CO2e.
That makes Germany's figure about 1.1 times United Kingdom's.
Across all 55 years both countries report, Germany has been ahead every year.
Germany ranks 10th and United Kingdom ranks 12th of 203 countries.
Germany has averaged higher in every one of the 6 decades both report.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Germany | United Kingdom | Difference | Ahead |

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the waste sector. This includes emissions from solid waste (IPCC 2006 codes 4.A Solid Waste Disposal, 4.B Biological Treatment of Solid Waste, 4.C Incineration and Open Burning of Waste) and wastewater treatment (IPCC 2006 code 4.D Wastewater Treatment and Discharge). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
