Guatemala vs Malawi: Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Waste
Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Waste over time
- Guatemala
- Malawi
How they compare
Malawi currently reports 0.2495 Mt CO2e against 0.2325 Mt CO2e in Guatemala, a difference of 0.017 Mt CO2e.
That makes Malawi's figure about 1.1 times Guatemala's.
The two have swapped places 5 times across 55 shared years of data; in 1970 it was Guatemala ahead.
Guatemala ranks 71st and Malawi ranks 69th of 203 countries.
Across the 6 decades both report, Guatemala averaged higher in 3 and Malawi in 3.
Head to head by decade

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the waste sector. This includes emissions from solid waste (IPCC 2006 codes 4.A Solid Waste Disposal, 4.B Biological Treatment of Solid Waste, 4.C Incineration and Open Burning of Waste) and wastewater treatment (IPCC 2006 code 4.D Wastewater Treatment and Discharge). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
