Iceland vs Maldives: Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Waste
Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Waste over time
- Iceland
- Maldives
How they compare
Iceland currently reports 0.0106 Mt CO2e against 0.0088 Mt CO2e in Maldives, a difference of 0.0018 Mt CO2e.
That makes Iceland's figure about 1.2 times Maldives's.
Across all 55 years both countries report, Iceland has been ahead every year.
Iceland ranks 162nd and Maldives ranks 164th of 203 countries.
Iceland has averaged higher in every one of the 6 decades both report.
Head to head by decade

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the waste sector. This includes emissions from solid waste (IPCC 2006 codes 4.A Solid Waste Disposal, 4.B Biological Treatment of Solid Waste, 4.C Incineration and Open Burning of Waste) and wastewater treatment (IPCC 2006 code 4.D Wastewater Treatment and Discharge). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
