Panama vs Uruguay: Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Waste
Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Waste over time
- Panama
- Uruguay
How they compare
Panama currently reports 0.0738 Mt CO2e against 0.0618 Mt CO2e in Uruguay, a difference of 0.012 Mt CO2e.
That makes Panama's figure about 1.2 times Uruguay's.
The two have swapped places 1 time across 55 shared years of data; in 1970 it was Uruguay ahead.
Panama ranks 128th and Uruguay ranks 129th of 203 countries.
Across the 6 decades both report, Panama averaged higher in 2 and Uruguay in 4.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Panama | Uruguay | Difference | Ahead |

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the waste sector. This includes emissions from solid waste (IPCC 2006 codes 4.A Solid Waste Disposal, 4.B Biological Treatment of Solid Waste, 4.C Incineration and Open Burning of Waste) and wastewater treatment (IPCC 2006 code 4.D Wastewater Treatment and Discharge). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
