South Asia vs Spain: Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Waste
Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Waste over time
- South Asia
- Spain
How they compare
South Asia currently reports 21.68 Mt CO2e against 1.54 Mt CO2e in Spain, a difference of 20.14 Mt CO2e.
That makes South Asia's figure about 14.1 times Spain's.
Across all 55 years both countries report, South Asia has been ahead every year.
South Asia ranks 17th and Spain ranks 20th of 46 groups.
South Asia has averaged higher in every one of the 6 decades both report.
Head to head by decade

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the waste sector. This includes emissions from solid waste (IPCC 2006 codes 4.A Solid Waste Disposal, 4.B Biological Treatment of Solid Waste, 4.C Incineration and Open Burning of Waste) and wastewater treatment (IPCC 2006 code 4.D Wastewater Treatment and Discharge). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
