Sudan vs Tanzania: Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Waste
Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Waste over time
- Sudan
- Tanzania
How they compare
Sudan currently reports 0.7824 Mt CO2e against 0.6753 Mt CO2e in Tanzania, a difference of 0.1071 Mt CO2e.
That makes Sudan's figure about 1.2 times Tanzania's.
The two have swapped places 4 times across 55 shared years of data; in 1970 it was Sudan ahead.
Sudan ranks 31st and Tanzania ranks 34th of 203 countries.
Sudan has averaged higher in every one of the 6 decades both report.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Sudan | Tanzania | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1970s | 0.1562 Mt CO2e | 0.1326 Mt CO2e | 0.0235 Mt CO2e | Sudan |
| 1980s | 0.2254 Mt CO2e | 0.2064 Mt CO2e | 0.019 Mt CO2e | Sudan |

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the waste sector. This includes emissions from solid waste (IPCC 2006 codes 4.A Solid Waste Disposal, 4.B Biological Treatment of Solid Waste, 4.C Incineration and Open Burning of Waste) and wastewater treatment (IPCC 2006 code 4.D Wastewater Treatment and Discharge). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
