Tajikistan vs Zambia: Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Waste
Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Waste over time
- Tajikistan
- Zambia
How they compare
Zambia currently reports 0.1552 Mt CO2e against 0.1463 Mt CO2e in Tajikistan, a difference of 0.0089 Mt CO2e.
That makes Zambia's figure about 1.1 times Tajikistan's.
Across all 55 years both countries report, Zambia has been ahead every year.
Tajikistan ranks 95th and Zambia ranks 92nd of 203 countries.
Zambia has averaged higher in every one of the 6 decades both report.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Tajikistan | Zambia | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1970s | 0.031 Mt CO2e | 0.0553 Mt CO2e | 0.0243 Mt CO2e | Zambia |
| 1980s | 0.0417 Mt CO2e | 0.064 Mt CO2e | 0.0223 Mt CO2e | Zambia |

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the waste sector. This includes emissions from solid waste (IPCC 2006 codes 4.A Solid Waste Disposal, 4.B Biological Treatment of Solid Waste, 4.C Incineration and Open Burning of Waste) and wastewater treatment (IPCC 2006 code 4.D Wastewater Treatment and Discharge). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
