IDA total vs Malawi: Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions (total) excluding LULUCF
Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions (total) excluding LULUCF over time
- IDA total
- Malawi
How they compare
Malawi currently reports 357.5% against 109.7% in IDA total, a difference of 247.8%.
That makes Malawi's figure about 3.3 times IDA total's.
The two have swapped places 1 time across 34 shared years of data; in 1991 it was IDA total ahead.
IDA total ranks 9th and Malawi ranks 7th of 45 groups.
Across the 4 decades both report, IDA total averaged higher in 2 and Malawi in 2.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | IDA total | Malawi | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1990s | 9.0% | -0.4% | 9.4% | IDA total |
| 2000s | 35.7% | 27.6% | 8.2% | IDA total |
| 2010s | 75.8% | 151.7% | 75.9% | Malawi |
| 2020s | 103.4% | 314.3% | 210.8% | Malawi |
Averages of every year both report within each decade.

About this data
Change of emissions (as %) of current year with respect to emissions in baseline year 1990 emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the agriculture, energy, waste, and industrial sectors, excluding LULUCF.. The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5). Negative values indicate that the emission level for that year is lower than the emissions level in 1990.
