How they compare

Turkmenistan currently reports 316.59 kg/ha against 59.95 kg/ha in Southern Europe, a difference of 256.64 kg/ha.

That makes Turkmenistan's figure about 5.3 times Southern Europe's.

The two have swapped places 3 times across 32 shared years of data; in 1992 it was Southern Europe ahead.

Southern Europe ranks 6th and Turkmenistan ranks 7th of 29 groups.

Across the 4 decades both report, Southern Europe averaged higher in 1 and Turkmenistan in 3.

Head to head by decade

Decade Southern Europe Turkmenistan Difference Ahead
1990s 64.31 kg/ha 48.74 kg/ha 15.57 kg/ha Southern Europe
2000s 63.69 kg/ha 77.01 kg/ha 13.33 kg/ha Turkmenistan
2010s 62.16 kg/ha 203.24 kg/ha 141.08 kg/ha Turkmenistan
2020s 57.49 kg/ha 270.56 kg/ha 213.07 kg/ha Turkmenistan

Averages of every year both report within each decade.

The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
