China vs Northern America: Nutrient balance — Cropland phosphorus per unit area
Nutrient balance — Cropland phosphorus per unit area over time
- China
- Northern America
How they compare
China currently reports 19.97 kg/ha against -0.1081 kg/ha in Northern America, a difference of 20.08 kg/ha.
That makes China's figure about 184.8 times Northern America's.
The two have swapped places 1 time across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Northern America ahead.
China ranks 24th and Northern America ranks 22nd of 186 countries.
Across the 7 decades both report, China averaged higher in 5 and Northern America in 2.
Head to head by decade

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
