China vs Viet Nam: Nutrient balance — Cropland phosphorus per unit area
Nutrient balance — Cropland phosphorus per unit area over time
- China
- Viet Nam
How they compare
Viet Nam currently reports 21.77 kg/ha against 19.97 kg/ha in China, a difference of 1.8 kg/ha.
That makes Viet Nam's figure about 1.1 times China's.
The two have swapped places 6 times across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Viet Nam ahead.
China ranks 25th and Viet Nam ranks 22nd of 201 countries.
Across the 7 decades both report, China averaged higher in 4 and Viet Nam in 3.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | China | Viet Nam | Difference | Ahead |

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
