Europe vs Malta: Nutrient balance — Cropland phosphorus per unit area
Nutrient balance — Cropland phosphorus per unit area over time
- Europe
- Malta
How they compare
Malta currently reports 28.32 kg/ha against 0.8518 kg/ha in Europe, a difference of 27.47 kg/ha.
That makes Malta's figure about 33.3 times Europe's.
The two have swapped places 3 times across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Europe ahead.
Europe ranks 19th and Malta ranks 16th of 32 groups.
Across the 7 decades both report, Europe averaged higher in 1 and Malta in 6.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Europe | Malta | Difference | Ahead |

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
