Jordan vs South Africa: Nutrient balance — Cropland phosphorus per unit area
Nutrient balance — Cropland phosphorus per unit area over time
- Jordan
- South Africa
How they compare
Jordan currently reports 1.94 kg/ha against 1.7 kg/ha in South Africa, a difference of 0.24 kg/ha.
That makes Jordan's figure about 1.1 times South Africa's.
The two have swapped places 13 times across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was South Africa ahead.
Jordan ranks 104th and South Africa ranks 105th of 186 countries.
Across the 7 decades both report, Jordan averaged higher in 2 and South Africa in 5.
Head to head by decade

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
