Samoa vs South Africa: Nutrient balance — Cropland phosphorus per unit area
Nutrient balance — Cropland phosphorus per unit area over time
- Samoa
- South Africa
How they compare
South Africa currently reports 1.7 kg/ha against 1.38 kg/ha in Samoa, a difference of 0.32 kg/ha.
That makes South Africa's figure about 1.2 times Samoa's.
The two have swapped places 8 times across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was South Africa ahead.
Samoa ranks 106th and South Africa ranks 105th of 186 countries.
South Africa has averaged higher in every one of the 7 decades both report.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Samoa | South Africa | Difference | Ahead |

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
