Bhutan vs Eritrea: Nutrient balance — Cropland potassium per unit area
Nutrient balance — Cropland potassium per unit area over time
- Bhutan
- Eritrea
How they compare
Bhutan currently reports 9.1 kg/ha against 6.6 kg/ha in Eritrea, a difference of 2.5 kg/ha.
That makes Bhutan's figure about 1.4 times Eritrea's.
The two have swapped places 6 times across 31 shared years of data; in 1993 it was Bhutan ahead.
Bhutan ranks 87th and Eritrea ranks 90th of 186 countries.
Across the 4 decades both report, Bhutan averaged higher in 2 and Eritrea in 2.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Bhutan | Eritrea | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1990s | 3.17 kg/ha | 2.19 kg/ha | 0.9755 kg/ha | Bhutan |
| 2000s | 2.98 kg/ha | 5.53 kg/ha | 2.54 kg/ha | Eritrea |

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
