How they compare

Croatia currently reports 14.36 kg/ha against 11.37 kg/ha in Botswana, a difference of 2.99 kg/ha.

That makes Croatia's figure about 1.3 times Botswana's.

The two have swapped places 4 times across 32 shared years of data; in 1992 it was Croatia ahead.

Botswana ranks 81st and Croatia ranks 78th of 201 countries.

Croatia has averaged higher in every one of the 4 decades both report.

Head to head by decade

Decade Botswana Croatia Difference Ahead
1990s 7.26 kg/ha 31.66 kg/ha 24.41 kg/ha Croatia

The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
