Canada vs Chad: Nutrient balance — Cropland potassium per unit area
Nutrient balance — Cropland potassium per unit area over time
- Canada
- Chad
How they compare
Chad currently reports 8.98 kg/ha against 6.53 kg/ha in Canada, a difference of 2.45 kg/ha.
That makes Chad's figure about 1.4 times Canada's.
The two have swapped places 5 times across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Canada ahead.
Canada ranks 91st and Chad ranks 88th of 186 countries.
Across the 7 decades both report, Canada averaged higher in 4 and Chad in 3.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Canada | Chad | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1960s | 6.81 kg/ha | -0.7113 kg/ha | 7.52 kg/ha | Canada |
| 1970s | 6.24 kg/ha | -0.5075 kg/ha | 6.75 kg/ha | Canada |

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
