China vs Germany: Nutrient balance — Cropland potassium per unit area
Nutrient balance — Cropland potassium per unit area over time
- China
- Germany
How they compare
Germany currently reports 39.19 kg/ha against 36.76 kg/ha in China, a difference of 2.43 kg/ha.
That makes Germany's figure about 1.1 times China's.
The two have swapped places 2 times across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Germany ahead.
China ranks 43rd and Germany ranks 41st of 201 countries.
Germany has averaged higher in every one of the 7 decades both report.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | China | Germany | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1960s | 0.1905 kg/ha | 160.67 kg/ha | 160.48 kg/ha | Germany |
| 1970s | -0.1444 kg/ha | 170.05 kg/ha | 170.19 kg/ha | Germany |

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
