How they compare

Estonia currently reports 22.12 kg/ha against 20.97 kg/ha in Norway, a difference of 1.15 kg/ha.

That makes Estonia's figure about 1.1 times Norway's.

The two have swapped places 2 times across 32 shared years of data; in 1992 it was Estonia ahead.

Estonia ranks 58th and Norway ranks 61st of 201 countries.

Estonia has averaged higher in every one of the 4 decades both report.

Head to head by decade

Decade Estonia Norway Difference Ahead
1990s 35.78 kg/ha 28.16 kg/ha 7.63 kg/ha Estonia
2000s 32.45 kg/ha 24.66 kg/ha 7.79 kg/ha Estonia
2010s 30.07 kg/ha 22.26 kg/ha 7.81 kg/ha Estonia
2020s 24.84 kg/ha 20.69 kg/ha 4.15 kg/ha Estonia

Averages of every year both report within each decade.

The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
