How they compare

Kazakhstan currently reports 2.2 kg/ha against 0.7 kg/ha in Hungary, a difference of 1.5 kg/ha.

That makes Kazakhstan's figure about 3.1 times Hungary's.

The two have swapped places 3 times across 32 shared years of data; in 1992 it was Hungary ahead.

Hungary ranks 111th and Kazakhstan ranks 109th of 201 countries.

Hungary has averaged higher in every one of the 4 decades both report.

Head to head by decade

Decade Hungary Kazakhstan Difference Ahead
1990s 9.37 kg/ha 5.27 kg/ha 4.1 kg/ha Hungary
2000s 8.53 kg/ha 3.02 kg/ha 5.51 kg/ha Hungary
2010s 8.11 kg/ha 2.76 kg/ha 5.35 kg/ha Hungary
2020s 10.06 kg/ha 1.64 kg/ha 8.43 kg/ha Hungary

Averages of every year both report within each decade.

The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
