Brazil vs Western Europe: Outputs — Cropland nitrogen per unit area
Outputs — Cropland nitrogen per unit area over time
- Brazil
- Western Europe
How they compare
Brazil currently reports 228.06 kg/ha against 88.27 kg/ha in Western Europe, a difference of 139.79 kg/ha.
That makes Brazil's figure about 2.6 times Western Europe's.
The two have swapped places 1 time across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Western Europe ahead.
Brazil ranks 1st and Western Europe ranks 3rd of 185 countries.
Across the 7 decades both report, Brazil averaged higher in 3 and Western Europe in 4.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Brazil | Western Europe | Difference | Ahead |

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
