Melanesia vs Western Europe: Outputs — Cropland nitrogen per unit area
Outputs — Cropland nitrogen per unit area over time
- Melanesia
- Western Europe
How they compare
Western Europe currently reports 88.27 kg/ha against 45.49 kg/ha in Melanesia, a difference of 42.78 kg/ha.
That makes Western Europe's figure about 1.9 times Melanesia's.
The two have swapped places 1 time across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Melanesia ahead.
Melanesia ranks 7th and Western Europe ranks 5th of 18 countries.
Across the 7 decades both report, Melanesia averaged higher in 1 and Western Europe in 6.

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
