Australia vs Canada: Outputs — Cropland nitrogen
Outputs — Cropland nitrogen over time
- Australia
- Canada
How they compare
Canada currently reports 2.28 million t against 1.96 million t in Australia, a difference of 315,020 t.
That makes Canada's figure about 1.2 times Australia's.
The two have swapped places 2 times across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Canada ahead.
Australia ranks 11th and Canada ranks 9th of 201 countries.
Canada has averaged higher in every one of the 7 decades both report.

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
