Northern America vs USSR: Outputs — Cropland potassium
Outputs — Cropland potassium over time
- Northern America
- USSR
How they compare
Northern America currently reports 5.35 million t against 1.88 million t in USSR, a difference of 3.46 million t.
That makes Northern America's figure about 2.8 times USSR's.
The two have swapped places 2 times across 31 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Northern America ahead.
Northern America ranks 4th and USSR ranks 6th of 10 groups.
Northern America has averaged higher in every one of the 4 decades both report.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Northern America | USSR | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1960s | 2.01 million t | 1.78 million t | 232,468 t | Northern America |
| 1970s | 2.65 million t | 2.19 million t | 455,738 t | Northern America |
| 1980s | 3.13 million t | 2.16 million t | 972,545 t | Northern America |
| 1990s | 3.37 million t | 2.08 million t | 1.29 million t | Northern America |
Averages of every year both report within each decade.

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
