Least developed countries vs Pre-demographic dividend: Total greenhouse gas emissions including LULUCF
Total greenhouse gas emissions including LULUCF over time
- Least developed countries
- Pre-demographic dividend
How they compare
Least developed countries currently reports 1,834 Mt CO2e against 1,701 Mt CO2e in Pre-demographic dividend, a difference of 133 Mt CO2e.
That makes Least developed countries's figure about 1.1 times Pre-demographic dividend's.
The two have swapped places 3 times across 24 shared years of data; in 2000 it was Pre-demographic dividend ahead.
Least developed countries ranks 32nd and Pre-demographic dividend ranks 35th of 45 groups.
Across the 3 decades both report, Least developed countries averaged higher in 2 and Pre-demographic dividend in 1.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Least developed countries | Pre-demographic dividend | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2000s | 1,188 Mt CO2e | 1,401 Mt CO2e | 213.46 Mt CO2e | Pre-demographic dividend |
| 2010s | 1,729 Mt CO2e | 1,718 Mt CO2e | 11.29 Mt CO2e | Least developed countries |
| 2020s | 1,793 Mt CO2e | 1,657 Mt CO2e | 136.08 Mt CO2e | Least developed countries |
Averages of every year both report within each decade.

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of the six greenhouse gases (GHG) covered by the Kyoto Protocol (carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (N2O), hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), perfluorocarbons (PFCs), and sulphur hexafluoride (SF6)) from the energy, industry, waste, agriculture, and land use, land use changes, and forestry (LULUCF) sectors, standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values. The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
