How they compare

Egypt currently reports 96.92 kg/ha against 82.87 kg/ha in Belgium, a difference of 14.05 kg/ha.

That makes Egypt's figure about 1.2 times Belgium's.

The two have swapped places 10 times across 24 shared years of data; in 2000 it was Egypt ahead.

Belgium ranks 12th and Egypt ranks 9th of 201 countries.

Across the 3 decades both report, Belgium averaged higher in 1 and Egypt in 2.

Head to head by decade

Decade Belgium Egypt Difference Ahead
2000s 95.58 kg/ha 104.92 kg/ha 9.34 kg/ha Egypt
2010s 109.54 kg/ha 98.9 kg/ha 10.64 kg/ha Belgium
2020s 93 kg/ha 100.01 kg/ha 7 kg/ha Egypt

Averages of every year both report within each decade.

The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
