Kazakhstan vs Nigeria: Volatilisation — Cropland nitrogen per unit area
Volatilisation — Cropland nitrogen per unit area over time
- Kazakhstan
- Nigeria
How they compare
Kazakhstan currently reports 2.31 kg/ha against 2.07 kg/ha in Nigeria, a difference of 0.24 kg/ha.
That makes Kazakhstan's figure about 1.1 times Nigeria's.
The two have swapped places 8 times across 32 shared years of data; in 1992 it was Kazakhstan ahead.
Kazakhstan ranks 189th and Nigeria ranks 192nd of 201 countries.
Across the 4 decades both report, Kazakhstan averaged higher in 1 and Nigeria in 3.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Kazakhstan | Nigeria | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1990s | 2.2 kg/ha | 1.96 kg/ha | 0.2372 kg/ha | Kazakhstan |
| 2000s | 1.65 kg/ha | 2 kg/ha | 0.3551 kg/ha | Nigeria |
| 2010s | 2.4 kg/ha | 3.29 kg/ha | 0.8973 kg/ha | Nigeria |
| 2020s | 2.34 kg/ha | 3.57 kg/ha | 1.23 kg/ha | Nigeria |
Averages of every year both report within each decade.

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
