Kazakhstan vs Sierra Leone: Volatilisation — Cropland nitrogen per unit area
Volatilisation — Cropland nitrogen per unit area over time
- Kazakhstan
- Sierra Leone
How they compare
Kazakhstan currently reports 2.31 kg/ha against 1.66 kg/ha in Sierra Leone, a difference of 0.65 kg/ha.
That makes Kazakhstan's figure about 1.4 times Sierra Leone's.
The two have swapped places 2 times across 32 shared years of data; in 1992 it was Kazakhstan ahead.
Kazakhstan ranks 176th and Sierra Leone ranks 179th of 186 countries.
Kazakhstan has averaged higher in every one of the 4 decades both report.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Kazakhstan | Sierra Leone | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1990s | 2.2 kg/ha | 1.39 kg/ha | 0.8108 kg/ha | Kazakhstan |
| 2000s | 1.65 kg/ha | 0.5826 kg/ha | 1.07 kg/ha | Kazakhstan |
| 2010s | 2.4 kg/ha | 1.07 kg/ha | 1.33 kg/ha | Kazakhstan |
| 2020s | 2.34 kg/ha | 1.68 kg/ha | 0.6575 kg/ha | Kazakhstan |
Averages of every year both report within each decade.

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
