Northern Africa vs Qatar: Volatilisation — Cropland nitrogen per unit area
Volatilisation — Cropland nitrogen per unit area over time
- Northern Africa
- Qatar
How they compare
Qatar currently reports 63.31 kg/ha against 11.86 kg/ha in Northern Africa, a difference of 51.45 kg/ha.
That makes Qatar's figure about 5.3 times Northern Africa's.
The two have swapped places 2 times across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Qatar ahead.
Northern Africa ranks 21st and Qatar ranks 22nd of 38 regions.
Qatar has averaged higher in every one of the 7 decades both report.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Northern Africa | Qatar | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1960s | 3.27 kg/ha | 4.23 kg/ha | 0.9633 kg/ha | Qatar |
| 1970s | 5.46 kg/ha | 30.41 kg/ha | 24.95 kg/ha | Qatar |
| 1980s | 8.61 kg/ha | 31.05 kg/ha | 22.44 kg/ha | Qatar |

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
