How they compare

Turkmenistan currently reports 109.95 kg/ha against 36.46 kg/ha in Southern Asia, a difference of 73.49 kg/ha.

That makes Turkmenistan's figure about 3.0 times Southern Asia's.

The two have swapped places 2 times across 32 shared years of data; in 1992 it was Turkmenistan ahead.

Southern Asia ranks 4th and Turkmenistan ranks 8th of 29 groups.

Turkmenistan has averaged higher in every one of the 4 decades both report.

Head to head by decade

Decade Southern Asia Turkmenistan Difference Ahead
1990s 19.26 kg/ha 31.23 kg/ha 11.97 kg/ha Turkmenistan
2000s 24.31 kg/ha 37.87 kg/ha 13.56 kg/ha Turkmenistan
2010s 30.81 kg/ha 74.74 kg/ha 43.94 kg/ha Turkmenistan
2020s 35.89 kg/ha 103.25 kg/ha 67.36 kg/ha Turkmenistan

Averages of every year both report within each decade.

The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
