Southern Asia vs Viet Nam: Volatilisation — Cropland nitrogen per unit area
Volatilisation — Cropland nitrogen per unit area over time
- Southern Asia
- Viet Nam
How they compare
Viet Nam currently reports 53.97 kg/ha against 36.46 kg/ha in Southern Asia, a difference of 17.51 kg/ha.
That makes Viet Nam's figure about 1.5 times Southern Asia's.
The two have swapped places 2 times across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Viet Nam ahead.
Southern Asia ranks 4th and Viet Nam ranks 2nd of 29 groups.
Viet Nam has averaged higher in every one of the 7 decades both report.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Southern Asia | Viet Nam | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1960s | 3.32 kg/ha | 6.97 kg/ha | 3.65 kg/ha | Viet Nam |
| 1970s | 6.22 kg/ha | 12.51 kg/ha | 6.3 kg/ha | Viet Nam |

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
