Southern Europe vs Suriname: Volatilisation — Cropland nitrogen per unit area
Volatilisation — Cropland nitrogen per unit area over time
- Southern Europe
- Suriname
How they compare
Suriname currently reports 86.23 kg/ha against 25.23 kg/ha in Southern Europe, a difference of 61 kg/ha.
That makes Suriname's figure about 3.4 times Southern Europe's.
The two have swapped places 6 times across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Suriname ahead.
Southern Europe ranks 7th and Suriname ranks 11th of 29 groups.
Across the 7 decades both report, Southern Europe averaged higher in 1 and Suriname in 6.

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
