Africa vs Germany: Volatilisation — Cropland nitrogen
Volatilisation — Cropland nitrogen over time
- Africa
- Germany
How they compare
Africa currently reports 1.85 million t against 404,720 t in Germany, a difference of 1.45 million t.
That makes Africa's figure about 4.6 times Germany's.
The two have swapped places 1 time across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Germany ahead.
Africa ranks 14th and Germany ranks 17th of 29 groups.
Across the 7 decades both report, Africa averaged higher in 4 and Germany in 3.
Head to head by decade

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
