Analysis
Czechia recorded 8.43 Mt CO2e for carbon dioxide (co2) emissions from building (energy) in 2024. That is the lowest value across all 55 years on record.
Compared with earlier readings it is down 3.8% on the previous year and down 28.2% over ten years.
Over the whole period, carbon dioxide (co2) emissions from building (energy) in Czechia peaked at 42.33 Mt CO2e in 1987 and was at its lowest, 8.43 Mt CO2e, in 2024.
Czechia ranks 44th of 193 countries on this measure, in the top quarter.
The series is highly variable year to year, so single readings are best treated with caution.

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the building sector (subsector of the energy sector) including IPCC 2006 codes 1.A.4 Residential and other sectors, 1.A.5 Non-Specified. The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
