Analysis
Greenland recorded 0.0869 Mt CO2e for carbon dioxide (co2) emissions from power industry (energy) in 2024.
Compared with earlier readings it is up 1.6% on the previous year and up 1.3% over ten years.
Over the whole period, carbon dioxide (co2) emissions from power industry (energy) in Greenland peaked at 0.1367 Mt CO2e in 2006 and was at its lowest, 0 Mt CO2e, in 1970.
Greenland ranks 172nd of 194 countries on this measure, in the bottom quarter.
The series is highly variable year to year, so single readings are best treated with caution.

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from electricity and heat generation (subsector of the energy sector) including IPCC 2006 code 1.A.1.a. The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
