Analysis
East Timor recorded 0.6994 Mt CO2e for carbon dioxide (co2) emissions (total) excluding lulucf in 2024.
Compared with earlier readings it is up 5.3% on the previous year and down 6.0% over ten years.
Over the whole period, carbon dioxide (co2) emissions (total) excluding lulucf in East Timor peaked at 0.7585 Mt CO2e in 2013 and was at its lowest, 0.0107 Mt CO2e, in 1970.
That places East Timor 169th out of 203 countries with data for 2024, putting it in the bottom quarter.
The series is highly variable year to year, so single readings are best treated with caution.

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the agriculture, energy, waste, and industrial sectors, excluding LULUCF. The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
