About this data
This dataset provides indicators on final energy consumption by end-user sectors and source of energy in large (TL2) regions. Data definition and source The final energy consumption is the total energy used directly by end users for all energy services (e.g. heating, cooling, lighting, transport, and industrial processes). It excludes energy used by the energy sector, including delivery and energy transformation. It is measured in megawatt hours (MWh) and can be broken down by sector (residential, industry, commercial and public services, transport, agriculture and other) and by fuel type (electricity, natural gas, oil, coal, renewables, biofuels and waste, heat and other). See the data sources. Definition of regions Regions are subnational units below national boundaries. OECD countries have two regional levels: large regions (territorial level 2 or TL2) and small regions (territorial level 3 or TL3). For more information, see the OECD Territorial grid (pdf) and the OECD Territorial Correspondence Table (xlsx). Cite this dataset OECD Regions, Cities and Local Areas database http://oe.cd/geostats.
