Analysis
Ethiopia recorded 0 Mt CO2e for methane (ch4) emissions from power industry (energy) in 2024. That is the lowest value across all 55 years on record.
Over the whole period, methane (ch4) emissions from power industry (energy) in Ethiopia peaked at 0.0006 Mt CO2e in 2009 and was at its lowest, 0 Mt CO2e, in 1997.
Ethiopia ranks 187th of 194 countries on this measure, in the bottom quarter.
The series is highly variable year to year, so single readings are best treated with caution.

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of methane (CH4), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from electricity and heat generation (subsector of the energy sector) including IPCC 2006 code 1.A.1.a. The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
