Analysis
Malta recorded 0.0004 Mt CO2e for methane (ch4) emissions from power industry (energy) in 2024.
The figure is down 63.6% over ten years.
Over the whole period, methane (ch4) emissions from power industry (energy) in Malta peaked at 0.0014 Mt CO2e in 2012 and was at its lowest, 0.0001 Mt CO2e, in 1970.
That places Malta 150th out of 194 countries with data for 2024, putting it in the bottom quarter.
The series is highly variable year to year, so single readings are best treated with caution.

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of methane (CH4), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from electricity and heat generation (subsector of the energy sector) including IPCC 2006 code 1.A.1.a. The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
