Analysis
In 2024, nitrous oxide (n2o) emissions from industrial combustion (energy) in Ethiopia stood at 0.0213 Mt CO2e.
Compared with earlier readings it is up 1.9% on the previous year and up 83.6% over ten years.
Over the whole period, nitrous oxide (n2o) emissions from industrial combustion (energy) in Ethiopia peaked at 0.024 Mt CO2e in 1992 and was at its lowest, 0.0004 Mt CO2e, in 1972.
That places Ethiopia 70th out of 194 countries with data for 2024, putting it in the middle of the range.
The series is highly variable year to year, so single readings are best treated with caution.

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from industrial combustion (subsector of the energy sector) including IPCC 2006 code 1.A.2 Manufacturing Industries and Construction. The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
