Analysis
In 2024, nitrous oxide (n2o) emissions from industrial combustion (energy) in Uruguay stood at 0.0771 Mt CO2e. That is the highest value across all 55 years on record.
Compared with earlier readings it is up 0.8% on the previous year and up 40.4% over ten years.
Over the whole period, nitrous oxide (n2o) emissions from industrial combustion (energy) in Uruguay peaked at 0.0771 Mt CO2e in 2024 and was at its lowest, 0.0057 Mt CO2e, in 1970.
That places Uruguay 37th out of 193 countries with data for 2024, putting it in the top quarter.
The series is highly variable year to year, so single readings are best treated with caution.

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from industrial combustion (subsector of the energy sector) including IPCC 2006 code 1.A.2 Manufacturing Industries and Construction. The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
